Poignant empty shoes display highlights issue
Pairs of missing shoes will occupy the stairs of the legislative buildings in Douglas today (12 May) to bring the Island's attention to a devastating illness.
The display is part of the global M.E. awareness day, and it's been organised by the local support group to represent the missing lives of those with the disease.
It's open to the public between 12 and 2pm.
Chair of the group Celia Marshall says lack of understanding about M.E. by the public and health professionals makes life very difficult for the estimated 350 sufferers on Island.
Three of those, Kitty Gawne, Nigel Brown and Craig Morris told Manx Radio the illness was crippling:
