Organisation says regulating the market would reduce the risk to drug users
An organisation is calling for reforms to drug laws with hopes they'll protect children and their families rather than endanger them.
Anyone's Family: Families for Safer Drug Control held a meeting in Douglas last night to evaluate the damage caused by the current approach to illegal substances.
It believes by regulating the drugs market and creating a controlled space with medical professionals available to advise and support users, it'll reduce the risks some people face.
MLC Dawn Kinnish told Manx Radio it's time the Island took a fresh view on drug policy, adding it hasn't worked and children are being exposed to danger and organised crime gangs:
