Committee to review new system
The election process used to vote in five new MLCs this week may be reviewed again shortly.
The Standing Orders Committee is sitting again in a few weeks time and will revisit the system.
It had been changed in order to speed up a procedure which in the past had gone on for many weeks.
Monday's election took just 15 minutes.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas says whilst the new system may not be perfect, it did succeed in providing a different profile for the upper chamber.
