Revised plans "better for partially-sighted"
Douglas Regeneration Committee’s chairman says he’s pleased with amended plans for a £20 million revamp of Douglas Promenade.
David Cretney MLC says he’d sympathised with concerns from blind and partially-sighted people about the original plans.
But he says a new scheme unveiled by the Department of Infrastructure giving pedestrians more space alongside trams on the walkway are a huge improvement.
Mr Cretney says he’s glad minister Phil Gawne has listened to the criticisms and taken them into account:
'Deterrent' sentence imposed for ketamine importer
Several sailings at risk or cancelled due to adverse weather
Glencrutchery Road to close to northbound traffic
MHK's shock over Hospice announcement
Sulby Straight closure in place this weekend
