The workshop takes place 24 June
A member of the Legislative Council believes if more people with disabilities were part of government change would be happening 'a lot more rapidly'.
Kerry Sharpe alongside MLC Dawn Kinnish and MHK Sarah Maltby will be hosting a workshop to discuss why people with disabilities don't take up politics.
Mrs Sharpe told Manx Radio she'd like to know what barriers stop people with disabilities from entering politics and what essential changes would need to be made towards accessibility:
Mrs Sharpe added that in Scotland and Wales, Access to Office funds exist to help level the playing field for disabled people who want to stand for political office.
It's something she'd like to discuss at the workshop as well.
"This fund covers requirements such as transport around constituencies during election campaigns and sign language interpretation for door step conversations. The workshop will help to understand if an Access to Office fund is needed in the Isle of Man."
The workshop is free for anybody to attend and starts from 2pm on 24 June at Legislative Buildings.
