Proposals seek to prevent under 18s being able to purchase the products
New legislation that would introduce more age restrictions on nicotine products will be considered by the Legislative Council later.
Cabinet Office Minister David Ashford had sought to have the Nicotine Products Bill 2026 complete all readings in both branches last week, but MLCs wanted more time to consider amendments introduced by the House of keys.
The proposals seek to close a loophole in the law to prevent under 18s being able to buy nicotine pouches.
MLCs will sit to consider the bill from 2.30pm.
