Bronze bust damaged just months after returning to public display
A sculpture commemorating the role a Manxman played in the Battle of Trafalgar has been vandalised just months after it returned to display following damage.
Manx National Heritage is assessing the cost of the damage to the bronze bust of Captain John Quilliam at the Quarterdeck opposite Castle Rushen.
The organisation says it's disappointing and upsetting as it comes following recent extensive conservation work to the sculpture, which was previously damaged by a fizzy drink.
The public are being urged not to try to remove the damage in case this causing further harm, but anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
