Hopes to end confusion over regulation
The future of a Douglas councillor is due to be discussed further today.
John Joughin has been removed from his position as he was no longer on the electoral roll.
There has been confusion about this regulation, with the Department of Infrastructure saying, following advice from the Attorney General's Chambers, that it could be open to interpretation.
Douglas Council, meanwhile, had been advised the regulation was clear in its assertion local authority members had to be registered to vote.
