Dead tree to be felled whilst DoI repairs carriageway
More roadworks on a main route in and out of Douglas are set to take place today (15 March).
A road closure will be in place, between 8am and 6pm, on Quarterbridge Road to allow a dead roadside tree to be felled by a private contractor.
The route will be shut between Alexander Drive and Selbourne Drive.
The Department of Infrastructure says it will use the time to undertake essential road repairs at the northern end between Selbourne Drive and Bray Hill.
It says the weight of traffic through this junction is reduced on Sundays and it anticipates it will be further reduced due to the closure of the central section.
Access from all other roads in the area will be maintained and the traffic lights at the bottom of Bray Hill will operate as usual.
