Roads Policing Unit stops 43 vehicles on first night of campaign
More than half of the vehicles stopped on the first night of the Manx police's winter checks campaign had defects.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit stopped 43 vehicles on Monday in a number of locations, including Ballasalla where one was seized.
The annual drive aims to ensure vehicles are safe to be on the road, including with all lights working and legal tyres.
The constabulary says this is not a great start, and is urging all motorists to check their vehicle.
