Term-time TT absence means penalty
TT ace John McGuinness has paid a fine for taking his daughter out of school to visit this year’s racing festival.
Earlier this month, the Morecambe Missile was told her absence during term time would mean a £120 fine.
He said he’d be happy to pay the fine, adding he didn’t feel he could compete at the TT without his family at his side.
Today on Twitter he posted “That's a weight off my shoulders paying that bill!! Money well spent!!! #seeyouthistimenextyear” alongside a picture of a court letter confirming he’d paid up and won’t be facing prosecution.
