
A motorcyclist from Ramsey has been killed in a road accident on the Laxey to Ramsey coast road.
On Wednesday evening police confirmed the 43-year-old rider lost his life when his bike collided with a car near Bulgham rocks at around 12.30pm.
A stretch of the road between Minorca cross roads and Dhoon Glen was closed for more than five hours while emergency services attended the scene.
The driver of the car, a silver Volkswagen Golf, was treated at Noble's Hospital for a minor injury but later released.
Two passengers in the car were not hurt.
Police have appealed to any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact police headquaters on 631212 or speak to any police officer.
