50-year-old pleads guilty to six charges in total
A court's heard how a woman who crashed into two parked cars didn't have a single legal tyre on her car.
50-year-old Zhivka Zheleva Gencheva of Tynwald Street in Douglas pleaded guilty to a total of six charges via a coroner's admission to magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
She admitted driving without due care and attention, driving a dangerous and unroadworthy vehicle and four charges of having defective tyres.
Prosecution advocate Barry Swain said Gencheva was driving her car along Mona Street in Douglas on 15 April when she lost control.
Magistrates heard her Ford Ka ploughed into two parked cars shortly after 9.30am that morning.
However, when police arrived on the scene she told them she couldn't explain why she'd lost control, claiming a mechanical fault must have been to blame.
Vehicle examiners at Tromode couldn't find any defects that would explain the crash, but did discover all four tyres were dangerously worn down.
Gencheva was fined a total of £900 and had six penalty points imposed on her licence as well as being ordered to pay £50 towards prosecution costs.
