MBE for Castletown and S100 stalwart
A familiar name in the world of Manx motorsport has been named in the Queen's New Year Honours list.
Phil Taubman has been awarded an MBE for services to motorcycling and the Manx community.
Chairman of the Southern 100 Motorcycle Club, he is the only surviving member of the original organising committee from 1955 and continues to promote the event on and off Island.
He has also been course clerk for the MGP and deputy for the TT races.
Mr Taubman lends support to many Castletown projects and staged the World War One centenary event, building a replica trench in the Civic Centre for the town's acclaimed exhibition.
He says he's humbled but delighted at the recognition:
