Commissioners say wild orchids have been disturbed and are working with conservationists to protect the site
Patrick Commissioners says unauthorised activity behind the skate park in Foxdale has damaged an area containing protected wild orchids.
The local authority believes mountain biking obstacles and a mown track have been created in the area, likely with no harmful intent.
However, the land is home to sensitive plant species, and officials say remedial work will now be needed.
Commissioners are in discussions with the Manx Wildlife Trust to help mark out and protect the affected zone.
Routine maintenance in the area has been paused to allow the vegetation to recover naturally.
