The mountain road has been closed this morning (25 January).
Several factors are involved - there's been an accident involving three vehicles at the Verandah and weather conditions are deteriorating, with snow blowing back onto the road.
The road re opened late on Thursday afternoon after a major operation by infrastructure gritting teams to clear snow and ice, after remainign closed for almost a week.
Police took the decision to close the mountain route for safety reasons just after 7am.
Conditions will be reviewed at 5pm Friday.
