Entire stretch shut for repairs
Essential maintenance is beginning along the Mountain Road today, closing the route for the next two weeks.
The route from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg Ny Baa will be closed 24 hours a day whilst Highway Services resurface the carriageway at the Bungalow.
It's due to re-open on Sunday, 23 April.
Infrastructure officials say that stretch of road has become 'badly rutted' by recent weather, and the work will improve ride quality and safety for users.
Government member with responsibility for Highways, MLC David Anderson, says the closure gives staff a safer environment to work and will minimise disruption.
