The Department of Infrastructure says there’s little chance of the Mountain Road reopening over the weekend.
After a constant battle to clear snowdrifts up to four feet deep this week, the department says Snaefell will be shut until at least Monday lunchtime.
Workers will inspect the following roads at midday on Monday: the Mountain Road, Tholt-y-Will Road, Beinney Phott and Brandywell, Injebreck and Druidale Road.
There’s also a warning to motorists about standing water this evening as heavy rain sweeps the West – Archallagan and St John’s is said to be worst affected.
