Humans and animals could be at risk of infection
The MSPCA is warning pet owners about an insect that can spread Lyme disease to both animals and humans.
It's peak tick season.
The insect can often be found making a home in animal's fur, particularly after walking in the countryside.
Juana Warburton issued a warning on social media, appealing for public vigilance.
She says it's a pet owner's responsibility to check their animals routinely:
