Long-term plan to pay off historic debt
The chairman of Manx Utlities says the creation of a long-term financial plan will help it avoid more 'dramatic' price increases.
Dr Alex Allinson says some hikes are needed to pay off the body's historic debt, but customers need to know what to expect.
In the UK, utility provider British Gas announced it's increasing electricity charges by 12.5 percent from this September.
Dr Allinson says rises of this nature are unwelcome, and efforts are being made to keep energy prices on the Island in check:
