Planning Committee due to make decision next week
Plans to develop the old Villiers site in Douglas have been recommended for approval.
It's been empty since the old hotel was demolished in the 1980s.
The Tevir Group wants to build two separate buildings on the site.
The principal building would have a mixture of retail and office space, including a gym and an underground car park while the second would be a six-storey hotel with capacity for 80 beds.
It's been recommended the proposals be approved because they are said to have a positive impact upon the area and benefit the local economy.
The Planning Committee's due to make a decision on Monday (22 April).
