Over 15 per cent of tickets rescinded
There's a wide range of reasons why fixed penalty notices are successfully appealed, the House of Keys has been told.
More than 15 per cent of tickets were rescinded from 2014-2016, and Douglas North MHK David Ashford today (Tue) asked why.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer said reasons included tickets issued against what turned out to be broken down cars and unmarked police vehicles - but he admitted the system was under reviewed.
Mr Ashford suggested this didn't account for some unusual statistics:
Gas supplier provides reassurance amid ongoing global market volatility
Farmers in race against time after freight backlog in Heysham
Further changes to sailing schedule due to tidal restrictions
Census 'still one of the most valuable statistical tools' for government
'Immigration is needed' for economic growth on Island
