Film about Manx folklore hits the screens in September
The legend of Gef the Talking Mongoose is one of the most popular local tales of the past hundred years
And now the story of this supernatural phenomenon hits the big screens later this summer.
Back in the 1930s the Irving family were convinced they had a creature which would become known as the Dalby spook inhabiting their property.
For almost a century the story of the talking mongoose has been very much a part of Manx folklore and now it's been made into a Hollywood feature film.
It's called Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose and has an all-star cast including Simon Pegg, who plays the psychic detective brought to the Isle of Man to investigate the case plus other household names such as Minnie Driver, Christopher Lloyd and Neil Gaiman.
The film gets its premiere next week before going on general release in September.
