The Department of Education is looking to its own staff to help it find ways to reduce costs in the new economic climate.
Following the re-negotiation of the common-purse agreement, all the departments of the Manx Government are being asked to examine their outgoings and find savings.
Eighty per cent of the DoE's £100 million annual budget is taken up by salaries, and Education Minister Anne Craine has confirmed natural wastage will be used as a means to save money in the coming years:
