Number of those signed off has risen in last three years
Nearly 90 teaching staff on Island were signed off work due to stress or mental health matters in a one-year period up until last month.
In the House of Keys today, the education minister stated 43 primary staff and 45 secondary or UCM staff were absent for those reasons between March 2022 and February this year.
That compares to 69 staff being given time off for the same reason during the twelve months before that, and 49 employees between March 2020 and February 2021.
Julie Edge was asked today what government is doing to tackle these rising numbers:

Government resources 'are not unlimited'
'Bleak future' for Manx businesses if people don't shop local
Declining amount of food production 'quite frightening'
Charity continuing to provide support to family of murdered teenager
