Cold-water swimmer marks 13 years of fundraising with 10-minute shorts-only swim on New Year's Day
Neil Vondy, a cold-water sea swimmer, will complete his annual 10-minute charity swim at Ramsey Stone Pier as part of the Ramsey RNLI New Year's Dip on 1 January 2026.
The fundraiser marks 13 years of the same challenge, undertaken in running shorts.
The charity depends on public donations to support its 24-hour rescue lifeboat crews, beach lifeguards across 240 UK beaches, and safety education teams.
Neil told Manx Radio where the idea came from:
All funds raised will go to the RNLI to help save lives and improve water safety.
