Infrastructure to introduce buffer zone
A 40mph speed limit is set to be introduced on Poortown Road, in German, to slow traffic approaching homes on the outskirts of Peel.
The department of infrastructure has decided to include the buffer zone after monitoring speeds on the highway which is currently derestricted.
A temporary 50 mph limit will be in place, between Ballig and Peel, while the new signs are put in - it will come into force on 1 March.
The DOI will also undertake patch repairs to the road surface with those expected to take no longer than two weeks.
