Ban on lighting up in cars with under-16s in
Those caught smoking in cars whilst travelling with a passenger under the age of 16 will now face a fine as of Wednesday.
New legislation mean the offence carries a maximum £5,000 penalty.
The Department of Health and Social Care says the law is being introduced to help protect children from the dangers of second-hand smoke.
