Reverend Irene Cowell gets Her Majesty the Queen's approval
A new Archdeacon has been appointed on the Isle of Man.
The Lord of Mann – Her Majesty the Queen – has signified her approval for Reverend Irene Cowell to take up the position.
The appointment was announced by Bishop Peter Eagles at St George and All Saints Church this morning – where Reverend Cowell will become the incumbent.
She succeeds The Venerable Andie Brown who retired last year and will have responsibility for Church of England parishes across the Diocese of Sodor and Man.
Speaking after her appointment was made public Reverend Cowell said the Manx community will be at the heart of her work:

The appointment will take effect from the date she is sworn in which is expected to be in late spring.
