Planning approval in principle is being sought to site a new probation, bail and after care hostel on the outskirts of Douglas.
The Department of Home Affairs has earmarked Ballakinnish House, near the bottom of Richmond Hill, as its preferred location.
The hostel would provide 22 places, including a 'move on' facility, which'd replace David Gray House and four four flats in central Douglas.
Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle (pictured) says the matter is now in the hands of planners and the building's surrounding community, but he's hopeful the proposals will win their support.
