St German's Catherdal to host inauguration ceremony
The Island's new bishop will be inaugurated in Peel this weekend (Sep 30).
The Right Reverend Peter Eagles was consecrated as Lord Bishop in July at a service in York Minster, presided over by Dr John Sentamu.
In St German's Cathedral this Saturday afternoon, Bishop Peter will be inaugurated and installed as Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann.
In the period since Bishop's Robert departure a year ago, the Bishop of Warrington, the Right Reverend Richard Blackburn, has been temporary Bishop of and has regularly visited the Island.
He says it was never certain there were would be an interim appointment on the Island - but the bishop's place in Tynwald did make a difference.
