Footbridge in place within 24 hours
Chief Minister Allan Bell says Laxey will have a new vehicle bridge before the start of TT.
This morning in Tynwald he faced questions from Garff MHK Steve Rodan about whether a temporary bridge would be built.
Mr Bell said a temporary footbridge would be built between the Shore Hotel and Glen Road, but a temporary link for traffic would be too expensive to build.
Mr Bell said design work is already underway on a replacement structure, and he hoped a temporary footbridge would be in place later today
Meanwhile, Mr Bell says the government will be looking at its response to the recent flooding.
He was asked by Onchan MHK David Quirk whether lessons could be learned by the government.
Mr Bell said the issue was being discussed as the Island had gone through two "once in 200 years" storms in just six months.
He told the court engineers were looking at structures which are considered at risk
