New crossing in place for cyclists and pedestrians
A toucan crossing, linking the heritage trail across the New Castletown Road in Douglas, is now fully operational.
A section of the highway has been one-way to vehicles since 10 May, from the junction with the entrance to the NSC to the Quarterbridge Roundabout, whilst the work was completed by contractor JCK Limited.
In a post on social media, the Department of Infrastructure is asking all road users to approach the area with caution, as there's a new crossing and new set of signals.
It's called a 'toucan' crossing because it's usable by both pedestrians and bicycle users.
