The new £1.6 million Meadows Pavilion at Douglas Golf Club has been officially opened by the Mayor of Douglas, Dot Pitts.
In her speech she said the ceremony was the culmination of one of the Borough Council's major capital schemes, and the result was a building of which everybody involved could be proud.
Mrs Pitts went on to refer to the importance placed by the Council on providing facilities for the community within the development, in the form of a place for meetings and social events.
She said it was almost a fresh start for Douglas Golf Club which, she hoped, would encourage greater use of the course for years to come.
