The new principal of Isle of Man College starts the job today (Monday), overseeing the studies of 5,000 students.
Geoff Draper, who has a background in military education and training, has moved to the Island to take-up the role.
He succeeds Professor Ronald Barr who was appointed chief executive at the Department of Education last autumn.
Mr Draper will be responsible for a budget of £11 million, funding a wide range of courses from degree-level studies to leisure and recreation.
He says his philosophy is to develop the whole person:
