No interruption in care during transition
There's a new consultant in breast surgery at Noble's Hospital.
Miss Adamantia Chrysafi will begin work at the hospital on 17 September for an initial period of six months, with the possibility that could be extended.
Also known as Ada, Miss Chrysafi replaces the current consultant, Mr Rana Nadeem, who is set to leave at the end of September.
The Health Department says there will be no interruption to treatments or ongoing care for patients over the two-week transition period.
Trained in Athens, Miss Chrysafi moved to the UK in 2011.
She has held two previous Consultant positions, at the Nightingale Centre and at North Middlesex Hospital in London.
Health Minister David Ashford extended his thanks to Mr Nadeem for his services to the Island's community, and expressed his excitement at what is described as a 'first class' appointment.
