There could be three search bays for vehicles if approved
Planning permission is being sought by the Department of Infrastructure for a new customs tent at the Sea Terminal.
The proposal would see three search bays inside the tent and two spaces outside as well as a dedicated entry lane.
A 'nothing to declare' lane would be marked in green paint and a 'declaration' lane in red.
The tent would be located next to where vehicles board the boat and would join the current entrance and exit to the check in area.
The application is currently pending consideration and can be found here.
