New legislation coming up in the area
Legislating for animal welfare - that's first priority for our new director of Animal and Plant Health.
Alistair Breed has taken up the post in the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture - including the role as chief veterinary officer.
He's taking over from Stewart Jaques after his departure from DEFA - but has additional responsibility for Plant Health and disease prevention.
Mr Breed joined the department 24 years ago - he says he has a clear idea of what to tackle first:

Amber weather warning issued as strong winds and coastal conditions expected overnight
Hospice funding criticised by UK charity chief amid Isle of Man service cuts
Sailings cancelled as storm brings gale-force winds
Manx Mountain Marathon route diverted over safety concerns amid forecast strong winds
Rushen MHKs to meet with Southern Group Practice over appointment concerns
