A new test to assess the responses of new drivers is being introduced in the Isle of Man.
The Hazard Perception test will run alongside the Driving Theory Test and will be launched on April 1.
It's being introduced by the Department of Transport because of the increasing levels of traffic on the Island's roads.
Officials say it's important new drivers are aware of situations which can develop into potential hazards where they will have to take action when on the road.
The new examination will be a combined test including the theory test and this new one. It will be taken at the Isle of Man College in Douglas.
People will view a number of video clips filmed on different types of roads and will have to spot the hazard - the quicker the response, the higher the score.
Failure to pass either section will mean both tests will have to be taken again.
