The newly-appointed chief executive at the Department of Education and Children says he'll look at all new schools' initiatives emerging across the British Isles, to see if they're right for the Isle of Man.
Professor Ronald Barr will succeed Stuart Dobson who retires at the end of August.
Currently Principal at Isle of Man College, Professor Barr will take-on responsibility for the Island's 38 schools, the college and the youth service - with a combined workforce of more than 2,000.
He's a former high school teacher and school governor, and turned around a failing primary school in Cheshire before coming to the Island.
New initiatives have been coming thick and fast from English education secretary Michael Gove.
And with the Northern Ireland and Welsh Assemblies and the Scottish Parliament running their own systems, Professor Barr says education policy is increasingly fragmented:
