Social care minister Martyn Quayle was the first ministerial casualty of the 2011 House of Keys election.
He lost the seat to Howard Quayle, trailing in third place behind challenger Paul Craine.
Howard Quayle polled 922 votes, or 41.8 per cent of the votes cast, with Mr Craine polling 560.
Martyn Quayle got 466, and Juan Cottier was fourth with 250.
