Temporary crossing to bridge river
Work has begun to erect a temporary footbridge across the river in Old Laxey - after the road bridge collapsed in torrential rain earlier this month.
Most of the bridge was washed away as river levels rose and remaining parts of the structure have now been demolished.
In Tynwald today (15 Dec) Chief Minister Allan Bell said a temporary link for traffic would be too expensive - but promised Laxey would have a new vehicle bridge before the start of TT 2016.
