ECU aims to go paperless by the end of the year
A senior police officer says the Island's economic crime unit must be 'nimble and adaptive' if it is to keep pace with changing demand.
Detective Chief Inspector David Dobbie of the ECU, believes his department will require extra staffing to stay on top of the current workload.
It comes as the unit is set to get an investment to modernise its operations following this year's increased budget for the constabulary.
The ECU, which is currently dealing with 30 live cases, has eight permanent officers and five civilian workers assisting in its investigations.
