Kewaigue Primary School is to have its first new head teacher in 18 years.
Tracy Willoughby is taking over from Mark Stevens, who is retiring after a 34 year career.
Mrs Willoughby was educated on the Island and studies for a geography degree at Sheffield City Polytechnic before starting teaching on the Wirral in 1986.
She returned to Island three years later and has since worked at various primary schools on the Island and is currently deputy head at Marown Primary School.
She will take up her new post in April.
