The new headteacher of St Ninian's High School says a school at Bemahague would provide some exciting opportunities.
Andy Fox will take over in September, replacing George Quayle who is retiring after 15 years.
Mr Fox is currently responsible for the Lower School at Park Road, which the Bemahague facility would replace.
The development will be debated in Tynwald in July.
Mr Fox says in his 24 years at St Ninian's he has seen many changes including the introduction of GCSEs and the National Curriculum.
He anticipates the proposed opening of Bemahague in 2012 as a significant milestone in his headship, bringing first class facilities for staff and pupils.
And he isn't worried that the lower and upper schools would be seen as two separate entities:
