Treasury minister says NHS levy could be applied to different form of income
The treasury minister hopes proposals for a new tax will provide longer-term solutions to the challenges facing healthcare spending on the Island.
A 12-week public consultation on proposals for an NHS levy opened this morning.
Alex Allinson says the tax could be applied to different forms of income, and would be separate to income tax.
He told Manx Radio the current system isn't bringing in enough funds to cover the rising cost of healthcare:
