The search is on for a Manx transport enthusiast, willing to store a unique vintage horse tram!
Douglas horse car No 49 is the last of its kind built for commercial service anywhere in the world.
It's been in storage at the Manx Transport Trust site in Jurby, but the space is needed and, unless a new home can be found, the vehicle may be dismantled.
Chairman of the Isle of Man Railway and Tramway Preservation Society Robert Hendry says it simply has to be saved (play attached audio file):
Anyone who can offer suitable covered accommodation is asked to contact Robert Hendry, either by email at elrokits@btinternet.com; telephone on 01788 543026, or by post at 2 Moultrie Road, Rugby, Warks, CV21 3BD, as soon as possible.
