There's new hope the government can reach agreement with Douglas Corporation on redeveloping the Bowl in time for the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011.
The issue was the focus of a long and lively debate in Tynwald yesterday.
Last month the authority pulled-out of the scheme, saying it could not justify spending £1.7 million of ratepayers' money on the revamp.
Chief Minister Tony Brown won support for his move to try again to win the Corporation's support.
If no agreement's reached, the stadium and Pulrose car park could be taken back into government ownership.

But South Douglas member Bill Malarkey defended the Corporation's decision.
He said a revamped Bowl would be a national asset and Douglas residents should not be asked to help foot the bill.
