Steam Packet Company supports local cause
A new van has been brought to the Island for local charity Hospice Isle of Man.
The vehicle will be used for the collection and deliveries of donated items, to and from the Hospice Shops to donor’s homes or business premises.
It joins other vans used by the Hospice Shops, to support the generation of income for the Manx organisation.
It was brought to the Island at no cost to the charity by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Kathy Foley, Hospice Shops Retail Manager, said: "We are delighted to have our new van on Island now, with special thanks to the Steam Packet Company who have ensured bringing the van over has come at no cost to us. Acts such as this, ensure that as much money as possible that we make in our shops, can go directly to patient care, so thank you."
Brian Thomson, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Managing Director, added: "We’re delighted to be able to support such a great cause through our Manx Community Assistance Scheme. We pride ourselves on giving back to our community through various support schemes and this is an amazing time where we can give back."
Drivers working for Hospice cover more than 26,000 miles every year across the Island.
