The refurbishment of 18 commissioners' houses in Ramsey has been completed on time, and under budget.
The upgrading of the homes, which were built in the 1950s, was carried out in partnership with the Department of Social Care and included re-roofing, re-rendering and new windows.
Lead member for housing and property for the local authority Mary Bruce says the scheme cost £900,000 compared with a projected cost of over £925,000.
An added advantage has been that tenants in a number of three-bedroomed houses which were under-occupied have been re-house in smaller properties, helping the commissioners free up accommodation for larger families.
